Recently pupils in S3 returned from their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Qualifier expedition which took place in Strathdon.
Pupils in cycling and walking groups completed a circular expedition covering a variety of terrain – some quite challenging for the cyclists with many river crossings. The groups started or finished at Corgarff Castle going on to Inchrory then down into Glen Builg to camp overnight. Completing the round along the shores of Loch Builg following the river Gairn to Gairnshiel. The weather was good with rain and the wind at night while tucked up in their sleeping bags!
The groups all made it to the top of West Meur Gorm Craig 1023m – one of Ben Avon’s many summits. Another Munro claimed by the pupils of Lathallan!
