The U10s team got their season underway with a fine win against St. Leonards. Three ten minute games were played and strong, evasive running by the Lathallan boys ensured they won all three matches. Pupils in the U16 Rugby Team played at home on Thursday 31 August against Linlithgow Academy in the first round of the Scottish Cup. The boys won 17-28 against the West Lothian School. The next match for the boys will be against Earlston High School on Tuesday 12 September. Great result boys!
Phoebe Verstralen has been selected for the Scotland Netball U17 Long Squad for the forthcoming season. Phoebe started playing netball when she joined Lathallan and has worked exceptionally hard to initially be selected for the District team and then for the Performance Squad and then finally for the National Squad. Well done Phoebe!
On Wednesday 3 May the school invited pupils from St Margaret’s School for Girls and St Leonard’s School in St Andrews for an afternoon of athletics including track running, long jump, javelin, shot putt and relay races. Pupils travelled to Hutcheson’s Grammar School in Glasgow on Wednesday 8 March for their annual Rugby 7s event. Lathallan were the smallest school taking part and almost missed out on being invited. The U18 team relished the opportunity. They played Kelvinside in the finals and won the competition by 1 try.
