Niamh shines in World Dancing Competition

Niamh Smith in S3 recently took part in the “Dance World Championships” in Orlando, Florida. Niamh represented Scotland alongside 15 other dancers in the group. The group took part in the ICU (International Chair Union) at the Worldwide of Sports and the group came 3rd in the Junior Competition! As the group were placed highly they were able to qualify for the USASF World Competition where they placed 10th in the Junior Section and 11th in the Senior Section.

This was the first time that a group had represented Scotland at this level. Niamh was competing for 6 days in a row with days lasting from 6am to 10pm! Niamh, who started dancing age 11 said “I was relieved when we managed to place so highly, there was a lot of pressure to perform well.”
