On Monday 6 November S5 pupils were accompanied by Miss Orr and Mr Christie to the Safe Drive Stay Alive event in Aberdeen. Representatives from the emergency services recalled their experiences from a Road Traffic Accident involving 4 young people and explained the consequences for each of them. The presentations from the professionals was supported by a video reconstruction. Finally, pupils heard from a man who had been seriously injured after being a passenger in a car that was racing with another as well as a mother who had lost her son in a car accident. Pupils reported that they found the event incredibly intense and thought provoking.
“The presentation showed the harsh reality of accidents and helped me to understand the dangers of driving.”
“I think this is something everyone should attend. I found it very influential and want to be a safe driver.”
