Pupils in S3 taking part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative have chosen Maggie’s Cancer Care in Aberdeen as their charity to study and represent. 4 pupils from S3 visited Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre in Aberdeen on Thursday 9 November along with Mr Fernandez. The pupils (Cara Boyd, Megan Groundwater, Tara McLardy and Callum Sherriffs) met with representatives from Maggie’s who answered their questions about the work of the charity, its impact on the local community and what it would mean to win the £3000 prize.
They also were given a tour of the facility. All of the pupils were very impressed by the building and the support services offered by this charity and are now even more motivated to win the competition. The final will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 5th December in the Assembly Hall. All parents of S3 pupils are welcome to attend the event.
