On Saturday 11 March we hosted the annual x country championship. The championship had many local schools taking part; Aberdeen Grammar, Albyn School, Banchory Primary, Banchory and Stonehaven Athletics Club, Cults Primary, Dunnotar Primary, Montrose and District Athletics Club and St Margaret’s School for Girls.
This is the seventh year that the championship organised by the Head of PE and Games has taken place. We saw the 201 runners put through their paces on a variety of terrain across the 60 acres of grounds at Lathallan.
There were a number of races for varying age groups from 11 to 18. There was some great friendly competitive spirit. Lathallan managed to win 1st in the Girls U11 race and 2nd in U13 Boys, categories C Boys, B Boys, D Boys and D Girls.
During the races there were coffee and tray bakes on sale for spectators to raise funds for the Vuyani Orphanage in South Africa where senior pupils will be volunteering this summer. They raised over £400 in total.
A well done to all pupils who took part in this event!
