Lathallan pupils will soon be making a full return to in-school learning as the country begins its’ recovery process from Covid-19.
All nursery children and Junior School pupils in the early years made a return to class on February 22nd.
Plans are now in place for all Junior School pupils to come back to Lathallan for a ‘wellbeing week’ on March 15th, ahead of the Easter holidays.
The news that pupils will soon all be learning at Lathallan is very positive and the school will work hard to help pupils to re-integrate into life at Brotherton Castle.

All Junior School pupils will be given the freedom to enjoy learning throughout the 60 acre grounds of Brotherton Castle with specialist teaching in art and sport in their first week back.
“It’s really exciting having the children back in school,” said Lathallan Head of Junior School Mrs Hossick. “You can see the delight in the pupils’ faces as they play with their friends. They have really missed the amazing grounds we have at Lathallan.”

Nursery children have also settled very quickly into a new routine.
The Nursery remained open during the lockdown period to key worker children and an interactive private Facebook group helped maintain a strong home-school link between those who were unable to come in.
“We have done lots of exciting things in nature over the lockdown period,” said Nursery Manager Debbie Henderson. “The weather co-operated brilliantly. We had lots of snow so pupils here could sledge, while those at home could do the same and share their images and videos on Facebook.
“But it’s been fantastic to have them all back in and to see the smiles on their faces.”
Staff at Lathallan Nursery have been undergoing virtual nature school training as they prepare to expand the delivery of outdoor learning.
Selected exam year S4-S6 pupils have returned to class for practical work with all Senior pupils expected to make a full return on April 12th.
S4 to S6 will undergo one of two evidence gathering periods as their National Qualifications and Highers work is assessed for the SQA.
