Lathallan Rugby 7s has firmly established itself as an important annual fixture for our school community sporting calendar and is recognised as one of the largest rugby 7s tournaments in the North East of Scotland. For this one-day event, we will welcome a highly competitive field of 36 teams from across the region including Carnoustie Rugby Club, Strathmore Rugby Club, Deeside Rugby, Morrison’s Academy, Garioch RFC, Ellon RFC, Strathallan, Robert Gordon’s College, Gordonstoun, High School of Dundee and Mackie RFC.

In addition to the sport on offer, visitors can enjoy a BBQ, cake and coffee from our very own Piper’s Coffee Shop and browse the stalls. It promises to be a fun family day out with a bouncy castle on-site, face painting and a balloon artist bringing entertainment for the youngsters in the mix.

We will also be holding a raffle with prizes including a signed 2023 Six Nations Scotland squad jersey, smartwatch, signed rugby memorabilia, gym memberships, beauty vouchers and more.

Proceeds from the Lathallan Rugby 7s 2023 will go towards two incredibly worthy national rugby charities including My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and The Bill McLaren Foundation.

Josh Gabriel-Clarke, Head of Rugby at Lathallan School, said “Following the successful return of Lathallan Rugby 7s last year, I’m really looking forward to it and seeing the competition go to another level with 36 teams taking to the pitches. There was some outstanding rugby played in last year’s tournament and from a Lathallan perspective, I’m expecting that we can have a good crack at our home 7s to finish off what has been a great 2022/23 rugby season”.

Richard Toley, Headmaster at Lathallan School, said “I would like to thank Fotheringham Homes as Headline Sponsor and our many annual supporters of Lathallan 7s, players and parents, for bringing such a brilliant atmosphere to the event year-on-year. I hope to see future Scotland 7s players showing us all what they are capable of on the day.”

Michael Fotheringham, director of Fotheringham Homes, said: “We are honoured to be the main sponsor of Lathallan School’s Rugby 7s tournament, which has become a well-known event in the local community for many years. We look forward to seeing the students’ hard work and dedication on the field and wish them all the best in the competition.”
