JUNIOR, SENIOR AND BOARDING SCHOOL FEES
2026-27 academic year
Tuition Fee:
- £27,709 per annum (S1 to S6)
- £22,744 per annum (J5 to J7)
- £15,112 per annum (J3 – J4 Pathways)
- £10,267 per annum (J1 to J2 Pathways)
Lunch and snack Fee:
£1,330 per annum (applicable to all students, J1 to S6)
Stationery and associated supplies Fee:
£30 per annum (applicable to all students, J1 to S6)
Boarding Fee:
- £10,781 per annum (Full)
- £7,026 per annum (Weekly)
- £125 per week (Flexi – min charge of two nights per week)
All of the above figures include VAT where applicable
Additional Information:
There is a 5% reduction for a younger sibling and a 10% reduction for the youngest of three children, providing the children are at school together. This is not applicable to siblings on the reduced Pathways scheme. There is a 20% reduction for children of serving members of the British Armed Forces.
Fees and extras will be invoiced termly, three per year and are payable on or before the first day of each term. All fees will be split into three termly instalments of 40% (Autumn term), 35% (Spring term) and 25% (summer term). Any parent wishing to pay for the full academic year in advance will receive a 1% fee discount and should contact the Bursar to make appropriate arrangements (bursar@lathallan.org.uk)
The Directors reserve the right to increase the fees without a full term’s notice if it should prove necessary. It is the norm to revise fee levels only once each year. Please note that in all cases, a full term’s notice of intention to withdraw a child from school or boarding is required in writing to the Headmaster, otherwise a term’s fees are due in lieu of notice.
A non-refundable registration fee of £100 is due at the time of application. A fee deposit of £500 is required to secure a place, this is only refundable (less any extras) on the final fee note.
Pupils using the flexible boarding service will be charged a minimum of two nights per week. If pupils stay more than two nights then they will be charged for those and any subsequent nights. Nights cannot be accrued over time or used en bloc.
The cost for using the morning and evening home-to-school minibus/coach is subsidised by the school, and the charge per trip for pupils using the service is as follows:

- £5.70 from/to Arbroath,
- £5.70 from/to Aberdeen and Banchory,
- £5.19 from/to Brechin and Finavon,
- £5.19 from/to Inverkeilor,
- £4.89 from/to Stonehaven
- £4.81 from/to Edzell,
- £4.60 from/to Montrose,
- £4.53 from/to Catterline
- £4.27 from/to Laurencekirk,
- £2.34 from/to Inverbervie, St Cyrus and Kinneff.
There is a £7.20 charge for day pupils staying for supper.
A weekly charge of £10.50 will be made for those children who swim on Friday afternoons.
The cost of exam fees will be charged to all students sitting exams. There may be other small outlays, details of which can be discussed with the Office or the Bursar.
Some optional extras/PDAs are charged separately in advance or in arrears, for example: archery, drama/dance, junior school tennis.
Music lessons are offered in piano, strings, woodwind, keyboard, brass, guitar, vocal, bagpipes, chanter drums and drum kit; music lessons and drama are charged by the individual peripatetic teachers. An up-to-date scale of charges is available from the Office.

Financial Assistance (Bursaries) & Scholarships
Lathallan is committed to broadening access to education at the school by offering to eligible parents means-tested financial support for the payment of school fees – such support is known as a bursary.
Bursaries are awarded in the form of a discount on annual school fees and are allocated in cases of proven need. The value of every bursary will vary depending on the individual circumstances of the prospective pupil and each of his or her parents but is intended to provide access to Lathallan at an affordable fee level.
To apply for a bursary, families are invited to complete a confidential financial assessment form providing details of assets, income and household circumstances. A bursary may be held alongside a scholarship.
