Sparks of Inspiration: Engineer Julian Ellins Visits Lathallan

At Lathallan School, we pride ourselves on creating learning opportunities that inspire and engage our pupils. Recently, our J6 and J7 pupils had the privilege of welcoming Julian Ellins, an engineer from Metron Group, for a fascinating session about the power of electricity.

Julian was hands on throughout the sessions

Bringing Engineering to Life

Julian’s visit was nothing short of electrifying! With his wealth of experience in the engineering sector, he gave our pupils a unique insight into working with electricity, sharing real-world examples of how it shapes the world around us. His presentation was not only informative but also highly engaging, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among the children.

The highlight of the session was an exciting hands-on activity where the pupils were challenged to build their own model electricity pylons. Working in small groups, they used creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to construct their structures. This practical exercise gave them a tangible connection to the concepts they were learning and provided a brilliant opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into action.
