Lathallan offers unique opportunities for travel and personal development.
Lathallan and Fitness
Since the formation of Lathallan in 1931, school sports and fitness have always played an important role in the development of every pupil. Whether it’s through timetabled PE lessons and games or via the school’s extensive competitive fixture list, sport provides challenge, camaraderie and opportunity, and contributes to the truly holistic learning experience that we offer.

Multi-sport
We seek to provide opportunities for our pupils in a broad range of sports at all ages and abilities. Whether the pupil is training and competing at a national level or participating for the social aspect and their fitness, we recognise the mental and physical benefits that come with regular practice and competition.
Facilities
On site we have playing pitches, tennis court, astro, gym hall, cross-country routes, track and field and strength and conditioning. We also venture into the local community to access facilities for sports such as swimming, skiing, golf, shooting and cycling.

Rugby
Lathallan has a long and proud history in rugby, hosting an annual Rugby 7s event and fielding several players who have played regionally or internationally at the sport. Former Scotland captain Rob Wainwright is one of many ex-Lathallan pupils who have gone on to forge a hugely successful career.
Our Rugby 7s tournament will be back this year after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. The event will take place within Brotherton Castle grounds on the 30th April. We have Clubs and Schools coming from across the region and beyond, with 40 teams across Under 12s, U14s, U16s and U18s entered.
Netball
Lathallan sees success in netball and celebrated a number of national victories in recent years. Our netball squads won the Scottish Schools Cup S2 Bronze in both 2018 and 2019, the S3 Bronze in 2019 and the Senior Open Silver in 2018.
Sports Dinner
We celebrate achievements at our Annual Sports Dinner, hosted by an inspirational guest speaker such as World Silver Medallist Zoey Clark.
