Senior School Summer Reading Challenge

It’s that time of year again! For the third year in a row, the Senior School English Department is once again inviting all staff members and pupils who will be in S1-S6 in August to participate in our Summer Reading Challenge.

What to do
The idea is for participants to keep a record of how many texts they read (this can include audiobooks, graphic novels and other texts) over the holidays. All you have to do is record the number of pages read or hours listened to whenever you finish a book, short story or graphic novel.

Times & Dates
The competition will officially start on Friday 23rd June at 2pm and finish at midnight on Sunday 13th August. As usual, a Google form has been supplied for pupils and staff to log their efforts.

New Prizes on offer
There will be a number of prizes up for grabs including:
  • The top ten readers in S1-6 will win a lunchtime ‘pizza party’.
  • Every participant will get a special Pipers’ coffee shop loyalty card and one free stamp for every book read. So read 10 books, win a free coffee/hot chocolate! This loyalty card will continue to work throughout the year so keep reading.

How to enter

For S1-6 and staff, with every book read, fill in the Google form you’ve been sent. For new S1, S2 and S3, fill in the above form and complete an Accelerated Reader quiz.

Good luck everyone and, most importantly, enjoy!
